Salary :

POSITION : Dental Hygienist

SUPERVISOR : Dentist / Executive Director STATUS : Part-Time : 1-2 days per week

POSITION SUMMARY

PT (1-2 days per week) / dental hygienist in our expanding dental program located within our multi-disciplinary health clinic.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments
  • Perform dental prophylaxis (cleanings), including removal of plaque and calculus
  • Take and interpret dental radiographs
  • Apply fluoride treatments and sealants
  • Provide oral hygiene instructions
  • Screen for oral disease and abnormalities
  • Assist dentists with dental procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentations
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards
  • Work in a team environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Virginia dental hygiene license required
  • CPR / AED / First Aid certification.

    • REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficient in dental hygiene procedures
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, equipment and clerical techniques in a medical setting; knowledge of dental equipment and care and medical terminology
  • Ability to work independently as part of a team
  • X-ray interpretation and technique
  • Ability to work with a team of volunteers and staff committed to the mission of Bradley Free Clinic
  • Patience, understanding and compassion in direct interactions with patient

    • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May require long periods of sitting or standing; appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn while administering dental treatments.

    • DESIRED QUALITIES

  • Ability to coordinate patient care with other staff members and make decisions that are in the best interest of patients and the clinic;
  • Ability to use basic Windows-based computer applications and database systems; and
  • Highly organized and attention to detail concerning patient care.
