Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a minimum of 5 years or more experience as a Painter.
Environmental / Working Conditions
This position is mostly subject to inside environmental conditions; however, may be required to be outdoors occasionally. May require frequent work with environmental hazards (i.e., noisy environment, contact with infectious agents, near power supplies / machinery, etc). Occasionally may require work with toxic chemicals. Danger from falls, cuts and abrasions is present. Subject to call back at all times. Telephone or equivalent is required.
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
Interacts on a daily basis with staff, visitors and patients.
Job Description
Performs a variety of duties in and around the hospital complex. Performs all tasks relating to the painting trade in accordance with DNV standards and all other applicable ordinances; including, but not limited to, painting, hanging wallpaper, borders, and hanging, taping, floating sheetrock. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Licensures / Certifications / Registrations
None required.
Physical Capabilities
Work is of medium demand (ie., walking, climbing, stooping, physical exertion and heavy lifting on occasion).
Skills and Abilities
Must be skilled in all tasks relating to the painting trade. Must be able to match colors and borders. Must have a good brush hand for enamel trim, etc. Must be knowledgeable in applying joint compound smoothly. Must have knowledge of applying texture. Must be familiar with all types of paint application. Must possess a general knowledge of construction. Must work well with others and be a team player.
