Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Staff Backend Engineer - this is a fully remote role for US based candidates.

Problem

The core problem in trading is discovery : what should I buy and why?

Many people track other traders' trades to solve the “what”, but they never get the “why”.

Solution

We created the global trade comment network : trade wherever, comment with why you made the trade, and see other traders’ trade comments.

Commenters earn a % of the copytrades that comments drive across trading apps.

Apps get access to trade comments from traders in other apps and can give their users’ comments much greater reach than just their own app.

Why Now?

Trading apps like Coinbase Wallet and Phantom are going social (necessary foundation for our app).

CEXs (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, etc) and fintechs (Robinhood) are all adding DEX trading to their CEX apps (huge TAM increase for Clicker).

New trading formats are getting traction : prediction markets, perps, tokenized stocks (huge content increase for us).

Earn on any copytrades your comments drive across our integrated apps.

Follow good traders and copy their trade comments.

Our mobile app lets you comment on all your trades (whether or not your preferred trading client has integrated us), see the trade comments and trades of the addresses you follow, and discover good traders to follow.

Staff Backend Engineer

We are looking for a staff backend engineer with deep experience designing and scaling REST APIs. Our API serves tens of thousands of requests per second, summarizing millions of rows of offchain data and terabytes of onchain data in 500ms or less.

The problems we work on are meat-and-potatoes software engineering : writing code understandable to others; optimizing Postgresql queries; tracing code paths for bottlenecks; getting the most out of AWS infrastructure.

Responsibilities :

Build clean, maintainable, and well-tested backend code

Collaborate with product to define, prioritize, and build

Design backend REST APIs for usability and for scale

Projects you may work on :

Feed : rapid, pre-built, algo-sorted feed of trades from people you follow

Discovery : surfacing good traders to follow across a diverse set of metrics

Trading Metrics : large scale onchain metrics (PnL, win rate, etc) aggregation

Trade Comments : prioritizing good comment creators across our products and partners

Protocol : improvements to our rewards contracts and indexers

Generally build the API - a robust, scalable, and developer-friendly API that the biggest crypto apps will use

You have :

Deep experience with modern backend technologies like Node.js, Typescript, AWS, and Postgres

5+ years at tech startups with millions of DAUs

Appetite to work on complex products with autonomy and creative freedom

Experience designing and building out programmatic APIs

Experience maintaining highly available infrastructure
