Title of Position : Human Resources Manager

Position Type : Full-Time, Exempt

Location : Candidate must be able to work onsite in Glenwood Springs, Colorado (or as directed by manager).

Pay Range : Hiring / starting pay range is $100,000 - $125,000 annually, based on experience.

Position Purpose :

The Human Resources (HR) Manager provides leadership and direction for the HR function, with responsibility for supervising the HR Generalists, and will also focus on talent development for the organization. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), this role ensures effective delivery of HR operations, employee relations, while also driving organizational talent development strategies. The HR Manager partners with leaders across the organization to build a culture of growth, engagement, and accountability, ensuring the organization has the talent and skills needed to succeed now and in the future.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities :

Team Leadership & Supervision :

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor HR Generalists, ensuring effective teamwork and professional growth.
  • Establish clear performance goals and expectations, provide regular feedback, and support ongoing development.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex HR and recruitment issues.

Talent Development & Workforce Growth :

  • Partner with the CHRO to design, implement, and evaluate talent development initiatives, including training programs, career pathways, and succession planning.
  • Partner with leadership to identify skill gaps and develop strategies to address workforce development needs.
  • Promote a learning culture that supports career progression, employee engagement, and retention.
  • Align development programs with organizational goals and values.
  • HR Operations & Employee Relations :

  • Oversee day-to-day HR processes, including onboarding, leave management, and offboarding.
  • Manage employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution to ensure fair and consistent practices.
  • Partner with managers and employees to build a positive and productive workplace culture.
  • Talent Acquisition Oversight :

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Specialists and hiring managers to align recruitment with workforce planning and organizational goals.
  • Guide and support HR Generalists to ensure effective recruitment strategies and equitable practices.
  • Ensure consistent candidate experience and employer branding across recruitment efforts.
  • Compliance & Policy Management :

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Review, maintain, and update HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee HR documentation, reporting, and audits to meet compliance requirements.
  • Strategic HR Partnership :

  • Collaborate with the CHRO and senior leaders to align HR strategies with organizational priorities.
  • Use HR metrics and data to evaluate trends and recommend policy or program improvements.
  • Lead or contribute to HR initiatives and special projects that advance organizational culture, workforce sustainability, and employee engagement.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :

  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in HR operations, employee relations, and talent development strategies.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated skill in conflict resolution, investigations, and fair application of HR policies.
  • Strong analytical ability to interpret HR metrics and workforce data for decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to balance daily operational responsibilities with long-term strategic priorities.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License required.
  • Qualifications : Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) strongly desired.
  • Experience :

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Working Conditions :

    Office environment with occasional travel between sites.
