is searching for a Certified Payroll Compliance Specialist

  • . Based in Skippack, PA, this role is responsible for the weekly processing and documentation of payroll prevailing wage reports. The ideal candidate is comfortable with and able to maintain confidentiality, professional, motivated, learns quickly, and pays close attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform all work according to OSHA, MSHA, and H&K Safety policies

Certified Payroll

Weekly preparation of prevailing wage compliance reports and certified payroll printout detail for Federal, PA, NJ, DE, and Philadelphia

Weekly processing of completed certified for mailing including labels, collate information, and bundling

Weekly processing of subcontractor certified payroll reports

Identify project, scan for imaging, prepare for mailing

Work with subcontractors to obtain missing information, signatures, etc., and assure proper submission

Maintain database to track each project certified payroll needs & reports

Troubleshoot discrepancies and / or questions from customers involving rates paid, fringe benefits paid, fringe benefits detail, etc.

Identify each employee's job classification when required

Scanning & indexing weekly certified payroll compliance & printouts

Filling weekly certified reports

Management of file cabinets to box & store previous years and maintain current projects

Weekly scan & index certified payroll / compliance reports for H&K Group and subcontractors using the imaging system

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR five years of related experience and / or training

A combination of education and experience may be considered

Related experience and / or training in areas such as supporting payroll, compliance, and / or prevailing wage reporting

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)

Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality

Demonstrated attention to detail and timeliness of deadlines

Demonstrated interpersonal skills when communicating with subcontractor representatives, customers, co-workers, ownership, and / or incoming telephone calls

Demonstrated use of time efficiently & remains flexible with frequent changes, delays, unexpected events, and / or changes in priority as well as many project-specific details

Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality

Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed

Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

Five years of related experience and / or training in areas such as bookkeeping, payroll, compliance, and / or prevailing wage reporting

Experience with specialized payroll and prevailing wage software and processes

OSHA or other relevant safety certificates

Relevant experience within heavy civil and highway construction, heavy industry / manufacturing, or mining
