Overview Event Technician, Audio Visual – Westin DC Downtown. This role is responsible for the setup and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.
Responsibilities Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications.
Strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
Maintains a positive relationship with clients through effective communication.
Meets with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment setup is working properly.
Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day.
Understands and fosters the hotel / client relationship.
Technical Ability & Systems Knowledge Understands the technical aspects of the job and can troubleshoot and solve basic equipment and software issues.
Handles equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
Understands company processes, follows procedures, and completes systems entry and paperwork accurately.
Uses equipment sheets to determine equipment for setup and strike; interacts with staff and outside vendors; may assist with invoicing as needed.
Qualifications High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
Valid driver’s license required for team members who may operate Company vehicles; additional DOT requirements may apply.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Physical & Work Environment Physical demands include hours of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs; other listed activities apply.
Work environment includes hotel / convention center and warehouse settings with irregular hours, on-call status, and potential travel between locations.
Compensation Hourly Pay Range : $19.00 - $22.18. Final compensation determined based on qualifications, location, travel, experience and may include overtime or incentives.
