Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Stop-Loss Nurse Consultant for a full-time, specialized role in underwriting and stop-loss. The individual will project the potential costs of high-cost claimants for new business or renewal quotes. This role involves reviewing medical records, case management notes, and claims data to make risk assessments and will require close collaboration with the underwriting team.
Key Responsibilities

- Provide clear, non-clinical summaries for non-clinical audiences.
Qualifications
Deep experience in stop-loss and underwriting, preferably from a stop-loss carrier, insurance company, or reinsurance company.Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.Experience
10+ years of experience in stop-loss and underwriting required for full-time, though flexible for temporary roles.Familiarity with medical specialties like oncology, NICU, musculoskeletal, rare disease, and autoimmune disease is crucial.Experience with risk-scoring tools, specifically AMS, is a significant plus.Skills
Resilient and empathetic with the ability to handle reviewing catastrophic cases.Strong backbone and confidence in projections under pressure.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating non-clinical summaries.Additional Requirements
The role is fully remote, with flexible hours during 8 am - 5 pm Central time for meetings and core work.Should be available for a virtual interview process.Benefits
