Job Description

Job Title : 2nd Shift Controls Technician

Location : Shelby Township, MI

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety requirements and company policies (IATF 16949, ISO 14001).
  • Test, troubleshoot, and implement new processes, automation systems, and robotics.
  • Install retrofits, diagnose and repair hardware, software, and instrumentation issues.
  • Support start-up activities and ongoing automation process improvements.
  • Create and maintain automation processes, testing procedures, and compliance reports.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, robots, scanners, and cameras.
  • Provide 24 / 7 support availability as required.
  • Work within a team and support overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a 2-year degree or technical certificate program required.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing experience with strong technical knowledge in automation.
  • Hands-on expertise with robotics, PLCs, scanners, and cameras .
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Working Conditions

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per shift with frequent walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
  • Must wear required PPE in a manufacturing environment.
