Worker Type : EmployeeJob Post End Date : 10 / 23 / 2025 About this opportunity : Reporting to the Manager, H&S Deployed WC Conventional, the Senior H&S Advisor position is responsible for providing technical and functional leadership in Health & Safety (H&S) for the Rainbow Lake operating area. This role will provide field-based support for ongoing implementation of Health & Safety processes that are aligned with Cenovus's Operational Integrity Management System (COIMS) and ensure compliance to OH&S legislation and industry standards for all aspects of H&S. Work Environment : Rainbow Lake This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation. This position is based in Rainbow Lake and is 14 days on 14 days off rotational role. The successful candidate must reside in Rainbow Lake while on shift. Please note, this is not a camp role and not a fly-in / fly-out position.
- While on rotation in Rainbow Lake, you will stay in company-provided housing. Please note that meals are not included and will be your responsibility.
- The successful candidate will need to commute to and from the community for each rotation. What you'll do :
- Facilitate the implementation of H&S programs throughout field operations
- Communicate Health & Safety information on a continuing basis and understand the Health & Safety strengths and weaknesses of the business and program.
- Stay up to date on emerging Health & Safety issues and legislation, ensuring assets are being staying compliant.
- Participate in risk management activities such as hazard and risk assessments, risk mitigation plan development / review, and audits & inspections
- Support field operations and maintenance leadership teams across their area of responsibility.
- Coach and mentor personnel on capabilities and functionality of H&S systems, including Intelex, ISNetworld, Power BI, and SharePoint. Who you are : Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements :
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the H&S function or Operations-based leadership; experience specific to oil & gas preferred
- Health and Safety degree, diploma, or certificate.
- Professional designation preferred (CRSP, CRST, CSP, etc) or willing to obtain.We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol / drug assessments.For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
