Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Telemetry Discipline : RN Start Date : 01 / 05 / 2026 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry Float Pool role in an acute care Level 1 trauma setting, requiring AZ or compact licensure and the ability to titrate cardiac drips. Responsibilities Work in the Telemetry Float Pool across acute care units including Telemetry, Neuro Tele, and MedSurg Level 1 trauma hospital setting Patient populations include post-cath, post-vascular, neuro post-surgical, general tele, ortho, surgical, and oncology Float required to all Telemetry, MedSurg units, and multiple campuses within a 9-mile radius 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with 4 weekend shifts per schedule and 2 out of 3 major holidays required Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1 : 3-4 on Telemetry and Neuro units, 1 : 4 on MedSurg Centralized telemetry monitoring; RNs must be able to interpret EKGs Uses Cerner EMR; experience preferred First to float within and across units, including possible mid-shift floating Specialized procedures include titration of cardiac drips (Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine) down only Responsibilities include patient care for telemetry and MedSurg populations with a focus on post-surgical, cardiac, and neurological conditions Must be able to titrate cardiac drips and interpret EKGs Pass / fail skill and knowledge testing is required prior to and on the first day of assignment Navy scrubs required Clinical team includes charge RNs without patient assignments, PCTs, and unit supervisors Rounds by hospitalists during the day and on-call at night; 24 / 7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support First-time travelers are accepted Candidates must not have worked for facilities associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the past year in any capacity except through outside PRN staffing Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel position Requirements Active AZ or compact RN license in hand at time of application Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Experience with cardiac drip titration and EKG interpretation required Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing (two attempts allowed) Pass / fail Sim Lab required on first day of orientation Ability to float to similar or lower acuity units, including ICU, Cardiac Tele, Cath Lab, and all MedSurg / Tele units Must provide a copy of driver's license at time of consideration Two professional references required : one supervisor reference from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-605633.
