Patient Services Rep - Dermatology Full-time Days
The Patient Services Representative reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities include :
- Greeting patients as they enter the office. Obtaining required patient information and performing patient registration, including verifying insurance information and collecting co-pays and outstanding balances.
- Obtaining and updating patient demographic information and company information from all patients.
- Answering phone and scheduling appointments.
- Directing and documenting patient calls as appropriate.
- Coordinating scheduling of outside testing for patients.
- Serving as liaison between patient and practice.
- Providing back-up for scheduling appointments.
- Performing all aspects of daily work in a manner which contributes to and ensures an environment of patient safety and confidentiality.
- Completing daily reconciliation report to assure charges have been entered correctly.
- Pulling charts and readies them for the next day appointments; filing completed patient charts daily.
- Filing test / procedure results in patient's medical record after physician has signed off on the results.
- Liaisons with company representatives or potential employees to assure correct services are provided.
- Reviews Epic chart prior to patient appointments making sure consents are within the past 12 months and the insurance card is current.
- Responds to all medical record requests from patients, insurance companies, physician offices, subpoenas, and legal requests per protocol.
Required : High School Diploma or equivalent required, One to three years prior Physician office experience required.
Preferred : Medical office coding preferred, Previous customer service experience preferred.
