Hiring 1st Shift Yard Rigger

Scheduled : 6 : 00am to Finish, Monday to Friday

Pay rate : $18.00 per hour

Assist the crane operator in the safe and efficient movement of precast panels, hardware, production beds, and other materials or equipment throughout the daily production process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Signal the crane operator during lifting and placement of panels.
  • Use rigging devices for transportation, storage, and shipping of precast panels.
  • Hook and unhook lifting cables, ring clutches, and spreader bars.
  • Maintain constant communication with the crane operator via two-way radio, especially when guiding the crane around blind spots.
  • Place dunnage for panel storage in racks or trailers for customer shipments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations.

Working Conditions

  • Regularly required to stand, twist, walk, and use hand tools or controls.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance on elevated surfaces, and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl.
  • Noise level is typically loud; hearing protection may be required.
  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

    External Basic Qualifications

  • Willing to work a flexible shift.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team with strong communication skills.
  • Must remain alert and aware of surroundings at all times.
  • Requires constant medium to heavy manual labor.
  • Must wear required PPE at all times : steel-toe ankle boots, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.
  • Capable of constant walking and standing across a 60-acre worksite.
  • Commitment to maintaining good housekeeping and following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to climb ladders, man-lifts, and scaffolding; must be comfortable working at heights
  • Willing and able to stand at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Willing and able to perform tasks which include pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Willing and able to carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED and at least 2 years experience in a warehouse or distribution center.
  • At least 6 months experience operating motorized material handling equipment.
  • At least 6 months experience with radio frequency (RF) scanning.
  • At least 6 months experience entering and retrieving data in an inventory
