🏥 Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Facility : Samaritan Medical Center

Location : New York

Unit : PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

Shift : Day Shift (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 30 PM)

Schedule : 3x12s / week | 36 hours guaranteed

Contract Length : 93 days (13 weeks)

Start Date : ASAP

Weekend, holiday, and call coverage required

✅ Requirements & Qualifications

Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment successfully

Active NY RN license required

BLS (Required)

✅ Requirements & Qualifications

Experience : Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment successfully

Current critical care or PCU experience strongly preferred

Licensure : Active NY RN license required

Certifications : BLS (Required)

ACLS (Required)

PALS (Preferred)

NIHSS (Required within first 6 months)

IV & IV contrast certification (Required)

Basic Lethal Dysrhythmia (Required within 6 months)

Coronary care course or pass challenge exam during orientation

🧭 Location Policy

60-mile radius rule : Traveler’s permanent address must be 60+ miles from the facility

Former employees : Must have been gone at least 2 years and be eligible for rehire

🧠 Key Skills & Expectations

Strong knowledge of nursing principles and clinical care

Able to assess and meet patients’ clinical, educational, and psychosocial needs

Must identify and implement safe patient handling techniques

Ability to stay composed in high-stress environments

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

May be required to serve as Charge RN
