About The Position

Job Title : Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night Shift

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience

License : Registered Nurse

Certifications : BLS, PALS

Must-Have :

  • Two (2) years of acute care RN experience
  • IV insertion
  • Blood draws
  • PICC / Central Line management
  • Obtain 12 lead EKG
  • Cardioversion / defibrillation
  • Procedural sedation
  • Trach care
  • Continuous bladder irrigation

Description :

A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients.

The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care.

Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are priorities.

The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit.

Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education is essential.

The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members.

Using the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care.

The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.

The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care and mentoring or precepting staff.

Job Responsibilities :

Assessment : Performs assessments and reassessments according to policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition.

Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions.

Development and Implementation : Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care.

Reviews and revises the plan as indicated.

Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services.

Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family.

Evaluation : Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.

Education : Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs.

This includes appropriate care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and at discharge.

Leadership : Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel.

Functions as a mentor or preceptor.

Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork.

Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement.

Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes.

Complies with regulatory standards.

Participates in the Practice Governance model.
