Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer for Red Wing and nearby outreach coverage, requiring at least 1 year of cardiac sonography experience and ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Primary work location is an echocardiography department with potential coverage for outreach locations including Cannon Falls and Lake City
  • Patient population includes neonate through geriatric cases
  • Duties include adult and pediatric echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and stress echo procedures
  • Staff participate in outreach, on-call rotation, and holiday, evening, or weekend coverage as needed
  • Requires availability for 24-hour call with a 30-minute response time
  • Uses Epic EMR; prior experience preferred
  • Independently perform comprehensive echocardiograms and integrate multiple imaging modalities to obtain accurate patient data
  • Document patient and exam information using the Echo Information Management System and necessary computer applications
  • Assist with orientation and training for trainees, students, and visitors assigned to cardiovascular services
  • Expectations include proficiency with all imaging equipment and specialties, understanding of sterile technique, and proper precaution for radiation and infection hazards
  • COVID vaccination and booster are required
  • Assignments may last up to one year with a mandatory 30–60 day break before returning for another assignment
  • Travelers are expected to complete lab testing within 24 hours of assignment commitment
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in adult and pediatric cardiac sonography including transesophageal and stress echo procedures
  • Associate's degree or graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited sonography program required
  • Current ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS certification required
  • BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
  • Must demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of cardiac pathophysiology, diagnostic and patient care procedures
  • Must be able to tolerate frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulders, and occasional twisting
  • License required if applicable
