Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Night Shift Neonatal ICU position requiring Level 3+ NICU and trauma experience with EPIC proficiency.
Responsibilities Position is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at a Level 3 or higher trauma facility
Night shift schedule, 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM, 3 shifts per week
Works with critically ill neonatal patients and assists mothers with baby-friendly care
Utilizes EPIC charting system for documentation, EPIC experience required
No local candidates accepted; must live more than 50 miles from the facility
Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal patient care
Expected to monitor intake and output of neonates and support breastfeeding initiation
Administers medications using bar code scanning procedures
Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborates with a team of healthcare professionals
Maximum of 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract
No travel partners will be accepted
Only one position submission allowed within the health system per candidate
Assignment maximum is one year; after one year a 30-60 day break is required before returning
Requirements Active Illinois RN license in good standing or valid temporary license
Minimum of 3 years of NICU nursing experience at a Level 3 or higher facility required
Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center required
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications from the American Heart Association required
Associate's degree in nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) preferred
Must have prior travel nursing experience
EPIC EMR experience required
