Library director Job at STAR Educational Media Network, Inc. in Indiana

The Andrews-Dallas Township Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking a director. The Andrews Library is a member of the Evergreen Indiana library consortium and a Class C Indiana public library in Andrews, Indiana. The library serves the approximately 2,200 residents of Dallas Township and part-time staff include a library assistant, a treasurer, and a custodian. The director is the only full-time position.

The ideal candidate will be a community-minded individual with a passion for libraries, a commitment to fostering a welcoming environment, and the ability to manage the daily operations of a small but vibrant public library.

Key responsibilities :

• Provide leadership and vision for library services and programming
• Oversee and conduct daily operations of the library, including programming, budgeting, collection development, and staff management
• Manage financial resources effectively and seek funding opportunities
• Promote library programs and services through community outreach, social media, and public relations
• Report to and work with a supportive seven member Board of Trustees and collaborate with an active Friends of the Library organization

Qualifications :

Strong interpersonal skills and creativity

Self-motivated and comfortable working independently at a variety of tasks

Ability to use and / or learn software and technology

Public library experience and Indiana Library Certificate 4 is preferred; candidates with experience or a degree in a related field are welcome to apply

Starting salary is $33,280 for a 32 hour work week with paid time off earned through the first year. The Library is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am-5 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-7 pm and Saturdays from 9 am-1 pm.
