Assembler - Manufacturing

Job Description

Position Summary : Performs basic mechanical assembly functions on production type hardware according to company workmanship standards and military or client specifications . U ses hand or power tools to trim, shim, cut, and make other adjustments to fit components together and align them properly. May assist in instructing and training lower-level assemblers . Reads and interprets assembly drawings to work orders using work instructions . M ay set up and operate automated assembly equipment. At the most senior level may serve as a team leader providing training to new staff and evaluating the performance and finished work of assigned staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include , but are not limited to :

• Determine Detail / Hardware locations per blueprints and mylars
• Set-up and operate Drill Press, Pneumatic drills, "C" squeezes, Hand Squeezes, Rivet Pullers.
• Drill holes in structure and subassemblies, and attaches brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation or to fasten subassemblies per blueprint and customer specifications.
• Install units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools.
• Bolt, screw, or rivet accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies.
• Locate and mark reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
• Mask Components with paint, plastic plugs and tape prior to surface coating.
• Complete all required training and any additional training required by supervisor.
• Complete quality documentation
• Verify part and hardware count to shop router
• Other duties as assigned
