Overview
Senior / Principal Civil Engineer to lead and grow the Water Resources & Utilities practice in the Charlotte, NC market. The role combines strong technical expertise with client service and business development, focusing on managing complex projects, cultivating client relationships, and expanding the firm's presence across the Carolinas.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Services & Business Development
- Serve as a primary client contact, developing strong and lasting relationships with municipalities, utilities, and private-sector partners.
- Lead strategic business development initiatives, identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and delivering winning presentations.
- Represent the firm in professional organizations, industry events, and local community activities to build market presence.
- Project & Program Leadership
- Manage design and delivery of water, wastewater, stormwater, and utility infrastructure projects.
- Provide oversight for planning, permitting, and construction support phases.
- Ensure technical excellence, adherence to budget / schedule, and client satisfaction.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with transportation, environmental, and site development groups as needed.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering career growth and professional development.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing across teams and disciplines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina.10+ years of experience in water resources, utilities, or related infrastructure projects.Demonstrated success in business development and client service, with an established network in the Charlotte / Carolinas region.Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire confidence in clients and teams alike.Note : This description reflects the position and responsibilities as described but may be adjusted as needed by the firm.
