job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in an acute care ICU setting under the Critical Care service line, including CVICU, COVID, MS ICU, and PCU Nurse to patient ratios are 1 : 1-2 in ICU based on acuity, and 1 : 3-4 in PCU Provides care for complex patients including post-surgical, cardiac, neuro, sepsis, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and STEMI cases Travelers may float to PCU and MST, and participate in float rotation with core staff Night shift position with 12-hour shifts and at least two weekend shifts per pay period EMR system : Cerner experience preferred All critical care drips and titration required including pressors, paralytics, sedation, anti-arrhythmics, and heparin Schedule is created 4 weeks in advance with some self-scheduling; block scheduling not typically allowed May be placed on call for low census situations; not a scheduled requirement Care for a diverse patient population including COVID, neuro, cardiac, post-op, and complex medical cases Travelers may care for fresh open-heart patients if skilled and credential check-off completed RNs are expected to read and monitor cardiac strips using Nihon Khoden tele monitors Intensivists are present in-house 24 / 7 with NP support; no nurse aids on the unit Team includes two charge nurses for ICUs and PCU, as well as a 24 / 7 house supervisor with some exceptions Professional scrubs in any color allowed; no camo; Navy scrubs required starting in October General and unit-specific orientation provided, with a preceptor and buddy system for initial shifts Must provide two references : one supervisor from past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from past 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility Must submit a copy of driver's license at time of consideration Holiday coverage required including one winter holiday and the eve of another; will not be scheduled for all holidays First-time travelers are welcome to apply Active AZ or compact state RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a similar setting Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Must have strong EKG reading skills and the ability to interpret ABGs Experience with ventilator management and troubleshooting required Prefer experience with IABP, Prismaflex CRRT, and critical care devices such as Impella, TAVR, and VAD Ability to float between ICU, PCU, and MST units as needed Must pass dysrhythmia (Relias) exam with 80% minimum prior to offer, within two attempts Must not have been employed in any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
