Hendrickson is looking for Engineering Co-Ops to support the design, test, evaluation, and manufacture of truck suspension components.
Responsibilities
- Provide design / drafting support for product layouts and production releases.
- Manage testing programs for truck suspension components with in-house and outside labs.
- Write test requests and coordinate availability of test samples / hardware. Monitor progress to ensure on time completion of tests.
- Create and maintain a database of test results.
- Provide design / drafting support for developing test fixtures.
- Support prototype activities by working with suppliers and internal resources to process prototype orders and requisitions.
- Work with suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Aid in completing lab benchmarking on general performance data (e.g., articulation, roll stiffness).
- Assist lab technicians in performing strain gauging, data acquisition, and data reduction.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education And Training
Enrolled student pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering.Minimum GPA 3.0 / 4.0.Minimum Qualifications
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; experience with project management.Strong PC skills (spreadsheets, database management, word processing); proficiency in Unigraphics a plus.Physical Demands
Frequent sitting and working at a computer for extended periods.Occasional standing and walking on concrete.Occasional climbing stairs and fixed / vertical ladders.Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.Ability to push / pull carts (minimum 25 lbs) and parts (minimum 60 lbs).Environmental Conditions
Exposure to R&D lab and manufacturing settings.Behavioral Traits
Ability to handle multiple assignments and complete tasks within demanding time frames with minimal supervision.Strong numeric and analytical skills.Self-motivated with good project management, organization, and planning skills.Equal Opportunity Employer . In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is $21.00-25.00 based on the student's grade classification. This pay range is provided to ensure transparency and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
