First Connect Health is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York.

Position Details

  • Specialty : PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
  • Shift : Nights, 4x12-hour shifts (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM)
  • Duration : 13 weeks
  • Patient Ratio : 1 : 3 (Days and Nights)
  • Weekend Coverage : Every other weekend is required.
  • Floating : You must be willing to float to similar units as needed.
  • Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience : At least 1 year of recent experience in a PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown setting.
  • Charting : EPIC experience is a hard requirement.
  • Certifications : Active BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
  • Licensure : You must hold a valid New York State RN license.
  • Skills :
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.

  • IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips.
  • Experience with feeding tube care, blood product administration, central / peripheral line care, and PICC line management.
  • Experience with respiratory care, including Tracheostomy Management, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), and non-invasive airway management.
  • Wound care and isolation precautions.
  • Additional Information

  • Patient Population : The unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of diagnoses, including DKA, acute respiratory needs (BiPap, High Flow, Vent / Trachs), ETOH withdrawal, and sepsis.
  • Time Off : Please keep any requested time off to one week or less.
  • Local Candidates : We are unable to accept candidates who reside within 75 miles of the facility.
  • COVID-19 Vaccine : Not required.
