THE ROLE

Blue Ops is hiring a Finance Associate to join our Financial Operations team. Our team partners with small to mid-sized businesses, private equity portfolio companies, and other clients to strengthen their finance and accounting operations.

As a Finance Associate, youll support clients across multiple industries by executing key accounting processes, preparing accurate and timely reports, and assisting in the development of financial systems and controls. This is a hands-on role that combines accounting fundamentals with opportunities to learn financial analysis and advisory skills alongside experienced leaders.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Support client accounting and finance operations, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities.
  • Assist in preparing GAAP-compliant financial statements and internal management reports.
  • Help maintain and improve financial reporting packages, including board decks and lender compliance reports.
  • Perform day-to-day accounting functions related to accounts payable, receivable, accruals, and cash management.
  • Participate in audits by preparing supporting documentation and liaising with external auditors.
  • Contribute to financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting to support client initiatives.
  • Assist with ERP / accounting system implementation and data integrity projects.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to ensure deliverables meet client expectations and deadlines.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reporting quality.

    • WHAT YOUR RESUME SHOWS

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 24 years of experience in accounting or financial operations; public accounting or consulting experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and exposure to ERP or financial reporting systems.
  • CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
