Mechanical SolidWorks Engineer Location : Westminster, MD Type : Direct Hire Salary : $80,000 – $90,000 / year We’re hiring on behalf of our client for a full-time Mechanical SolidWorks Engineer. This is a direct hire opportunity based in Westminster, MD, offering a competitive salary and the chance to work on advanced battery technologies. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Program Managers and Design Engineers to develop battery components based on customer specifications. Lead mechanical design and documentation efforts for thermal batteries using SolidWorks. Support Operations in the transition of new battery designs into production. Design and document tools, fixtures, and test setups required for manufacturing and testing of batteries and subassemblies. Serve as the lead mechanical expert, identifying risks and resolving design or production issues. Support cross-functional teams, including Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Program Management. Work hands-on within the production facility to prototype, validate, and improve designs. Perform tolerance analysis to ensure proper assembly, fit, and compliance with specifications. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering 3+ years of experience in mechanical design Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software Knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing standards : ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a high level of integrity Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting Hands-on, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects ⭐ Preferred Experience Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using structural simulation tools Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) Background in the Defense or Aerospace industries Familiarity with machining and metrology techniques Why Apply?
