The Opportunity

The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of related work experience. PLS-CADD experience is preferred. Required software skillsets include Autodesk AutoCad, Bentley MicroStation (2D / 3D) or PLS-CADD.

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Functions in a project engineering technician capacity. Under general direction, supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables.
  • Utilizes digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
  • Provides technical guidance and may offer direction to other engineering professionals and technicians to ensure quality and consistency across project outputs.
  • Apply knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes and company policies to deliverables.
  • Review project requirements and determine the correct format and contents of the required deliverables.
  • Proactively applies the Quality Program and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Review design inputs to ensure consistency and compliance with codes and standards suitable for the project.
  • Apply basic engineering principles to develop moderately complex design concepts and deliverables; begin to exercise judgment and decision-making.
  • Provide technical guidance to other professionals and review deliverables as needed.
  • Perform design calculations, material quantities and estimates, and maintain records.
  • Coordinate with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information; may support field activities.
  • Focus on internal clients while understanding external client drivers, and proactively share knowledge of latest technologies and processes.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineering technicians where applicable.
  • Provide guidance, delegation of work, and feedback to project teams.
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Diploma or Certificate; Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology; 5+ years related work experience.

  • Preferred Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in CADD or equivalent; Autodesk AutoCad; Bentley MicroStation (2D / 3D); PLS-CADD; intermediate knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, and company policies; ability to interpret engineering deliverables; basic knowledge of construction, procurement, and contract administration.
