Estimated Weekly Salary Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1,720 - $1,840 per week Key Job Details – OR RN Travel Assignment Location : Alamogordo, NM 88310 (New Mexico nursing jobs) Assignment Type : Travel, Full Time Unit : Operating Room (Orthopedic Surgery focus) Shift : Nights, 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour shifts) Duration : 13 weeks (potential temp-to-perm) Hours per Week : 36 Start Date : November 2, 2025 Weekend Requirement : Yes On Call Requirement : Yes, every other week Floating : May float to Med / Surg Tele as needed Nurse / Patient Ratio : 1 : 5 Qualifications – Operating Room Registered Nurse Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or compact state (required for New Mexico healthcare jobs) BLS certification (required) Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN or in surgical nursing (preferred) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Ability to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as scheduled OR RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the Operating Room with a focus on orthopedic surgery (joint replacements, fractures, shoulders, podiatry cases) Utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation Administer medications and treatments per protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided in the electronic health record Educate patients, families, and caregivers on surgical procedures, recovery, and ongoing care needs Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes Float to Med / Surg Telemetry unit as needed Participate in on-call rotation and provide weekend coverage as required Discover the rewarding experience of travel nursing in Alamogordo, NM—where outdoor adventure, a supportive healthcare community, and career growth await.
