Medical Assistant

We're hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to join Academic Alliance Dermatology in Tarpon Springs & Trinity, FL. In this role, you'll support our providers by rooming patients, assisting with dermatologic procedures, documenting in the EMR, and ensuring each patient receives compassionate, efficient care. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on dermatology experience while working in a collaborative, patient-focused clinic.

Responsibilities

• Escort patient to exam room and confirm first & last name & DOB.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Organize patient flow.
• Setup procedure tray, instruments, and equipment according to instructions.
• Prepare Path / lab specimens, route to correct lab directed by patient insurance plan.
• Respond to patient questions in office and on phone as instructed.
• Check to-dos / Nurse line.
• Calibrate, clean, sterilize and inventory all equipment & instruments according to schedule. Keep appropriate records of maintenance.
• Maintain medication supplies, discard out-of-date supplies, and keep appropriate records.
• Maintain infection control and make sure supply rooms and cabinets are stocked.
• Ordering, sorting, restocking and inventory of all supplies.
• Document all medical instructions given to patients, thoroughly review wound care with patients when applicable.
• Anesthesia / Inject for procedures.
• Ensure all phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail are addressed in a timely manner.
• Must maintain HIPAA compliance
• Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
