Your role
Digital Realty is looking to add to our Global Energy Strategy team. We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Sr. Analyst – Global Energy Strategy to support the development and execution of our company’s global energy strategy. This role will play a critical part in enabling data-driven decisions across wholesale power procurement, renewable energy sourcing, and energy portfolio optimization. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of financial acumen, market insight, and operational awareness, and will work cross-functionally with teams in AMER, EMEA, and APAC regions.
What you’ll do
- Support the financial and strategic evaluation of global energy procurement opportunities, including utility-scale renewable energy projects, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and retail / wholesale supply contracts.
- Assist in the development of global portfolio management tools and dashboards that track energy spend, exposure, renewable coverage, and sustainability KPIs.
- Conduct quantitative analysis and scenario modeling to assess risks, costs, and benefits of energy procurement strategies under various regulatory and market conditions.
- Analyze energy market data, policy trends, and procurement options to inform sourcing decisions and regional strategy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including finance, legal, operations, and sustainability to evaluate deal structures and ensure strategic alignment.
- Support the standardization of global procurement practices and portfolio reporting across regions.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to senior leadership, articulating findings and strategic recommendations.
What you’ll need
5–10 years of experience in energy strategy, energy finance, power markets, or related fields.Strong understanding of energy markets, energy procurement structures, and portfolio management principles.Advanced financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills; experience with Excel, Power BI, and / or Python is a plus.Familiarity with PPAs, renewable energy credits (RECs), hedging, and risk management tools.Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights for non-technical audiences.Experience working in global or multi-regional environments, with cross-functional collaboration.Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.Key Attributes
