About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse

Shift : 12H Nights EOW or up to 3 weekends / month if unit is busy; first to float
Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week
Experience : 3 years of recent Intensive Care Unit experience required
License : Current nursing license required
Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have :
Full 3 years of recent Intensive Care Unit experience to be considered.
Experience must include either neuro or cardiovascular.
UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance.
Maximum attempts for exam is 2.
There will be a pass / fail assessment on Day 1 of orientation.
Experience in a level 1 trauma center preferred.
Description :
Auto-offer based on clinical prescreen.
Candidates will need to titrate drips.
Common diagnosable conditions include level 1 trauma cases, falls, gunshot wounds, blunt trauma, and motor vehicle accidents.
Patients may include trauma patients over the age of 15, exploratory laparotomies, craniotomies, and specialty neuro-surgery cases.
Additional cases include cerebrovascular accidents status post-TPA, COVID-19, sepsis, and ARDS.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 2 or 1 : 1 depending on patient acuity.
Charge Nurse will not take patients.
Registered Nurses are required to interpret their own telemetry strips.
Self-scheduling is allowed, but the manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs.
Weekend requirements include three weekend shifts in a four-week schedule.
Holiday requirements may allow one holiday off within the assignment.
No additional call or standby shifts required.
Floating to other units as needed with different nurse-to-patient ratios may be expected.
All staff will receive department-specific orientation lasting 1-2 days.
Skill validation for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices will be conducted as needed.
