Job Summary

Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. Directs subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Works on issues of limited scope. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.

The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the administrative and operational activities of a multi-campus unit supporting both clinical and research functions. This role provides direct supervision to staff, ensures adherence to University policies and regulatory standards, and supports the implementation of consistent, efficient workflows across locations.

The Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining high-quality service delivery, coordinating operational priorities, and contributing to the ongoing development of staff and processes. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $84,800 - $127,200 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging is one of the largest departments in the School of Medicine (SOM) at UCSF, generating more than $70 million in professional fee revenues each year, and annual grant awards of $30-40 million. The mission of the Department includes research, teaching, and patient care. The department has over 200 salaried faculty and non-faculty academics. There are also approximately 75 With Out Salary (WOS) clinical faculty. The department has over 200 career staff employees. The Department operates across eight sites in San Francisco and the Bay Area.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related areas and / or equivalent experience / training
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience
• Minimum of 1 year of Lead / Supervisory / Manager experience
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Working knowledge of the organization's processes and procedures, rules and regulations
• Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs
• Interpersonal skills include verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling to effectively motivate others
• Skills to evaluate issues and identify resolutions
• Strong service orientation with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in office and operational systems (e.g., scheduling platforms, compliance tools, Microsoft Office suite)
