Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg travel position on a Med / Renal / Gastro unit in New Jersey with night shifts and Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Med / Surg unit focusing on renal and gastroenterology patient populations
  • Handles patients across the pediatric to geriatric age spectrum
  • 12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 pm to 7 : 00 am, three shifts per week
  • Uses Epic for charting and documentation
  • Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required
  • Provide comprehensive patient assessments and deliver age-appropriate nursing care
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of patient status and progress
  • Demonstrate proficient clinical skills and respond effectively to emergencies
  • Practice in accordance with National Patient Safety Goals and hospital’s protocols
  • Participate as an active member of the care team, supporting patient education and satisfaction
  • May be assigned perioperative education and assessment responsibilities
  • Must comply with all hospital policies and HIPAA confidentiality standards

    • Requirements

  • Active NJ or compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 1 year recent Med / Surg RN experience
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience with Epic EMR required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
