Description : About the Position :
AMH is opening a school health center in Graham County Schools this fall. Appalachian Mountain Health is seeking a motivated and caring Patient Support Representative to support healthcare services provided to students and staff at our school health center serving Robbinsville Elementary, Middle, and High Schools in Graham County, NC.
Requirements :
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Answering screening prioritizing and delegating large amounts of telephone inquiries in a friendly professional manner including de-escalation skills for disgruntled patients.
- Returning patient, provider and third party calls in a timely manner.
- Referring patient inquiries of a clinical nature to the appropriate clinical staff for triage.
- Scheduling appointments in accordance with AMH guidelines relating to new patient, routine follow-up and same-day appointments.
- Provide a welcoming first impression to the organization.
- Patient check in and complete full registration process, including consent forms.
- Experience with verifying patient insurance is preferred but not required.
REQUIREMENTS :
Sending and following up on messages between patient’s and providers / clinical staff members via EHRRead through for previous messages / encounters related to patient inquiry to clearly and efficiently communicate with patient and staff.Maintaining electronic health records (EHR) and coordinating patient activities.Verifying information on file and updating said information as necessary.Using data and patient registries to outreach to patients in need of preventive care and follow-up for chronic conditions.Utilizing working knowledge of up to date insurance credentialing information to appropriately schedule appointments.As appropriate, triaging phone calls and following up on patient requests.Skills :
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Proficient with medical office technology and equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and phone systems, as well as MS Excel / Word / Outlook, Electronic Health Record systems and automated medical scheduling and billing programs.Excellent interpersonal skills in group and community settingsAbility to plan, schedule and coordinateEffective management of multiple duties and responsibilities in a clinical settingSound leadership and clinical judgmentExcellent communication skills in person, on the phone and in written communicationsFlexibility in a rapidly growing and changing work environmentStrong attention to detailExceptional customer service skillsEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Required :
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED)Knowledge of HIPAA Requirements and Guidelines
