Location : Plaquemine, LA

Schedule : Mon-Fri 7am-3 : 30pm

Pay Rate : $20-$36 per hour DOE

Job Description :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Water Jet Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate high-pressure water jet machinery to cut and shape metal components for various fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in using water jet cutting equipment and a strong understanding of how to interpret CAD files, blueprints, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Operate and maintain water jet cutting machines (Flow, OMAX, or similar models).
  • Read, interpret, and execute instructions from CAD files, technical drawings, and project specifications.
  • Set up materials (metals, plastics, and composites) and accurately align them on the machine bed.
  • Monitor cutting operations to ensure high precision, consistency, and adherence to production schedules.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Record production data, including material usage and cutting times.
  • Inspect finished products for quality assurance and compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet project deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and best practices.

Requirements :

  • Proven experience as a Water Jet Operator or in a similar role, with a preference for familiarity with Flow, OMAX, or other water jet systems.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
  • Knowledge of various metal types (steel, aluminum, brass, etc.) and cutting parameters.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills to handle machine troubleshooting and basic repairs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with high precision.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team.
  • Ability to lift and move materials, and work in a fast-paced environment.
