You’re embedded with a multidisciplinary team, walking the production floor with maintenance, operations, and safety partners, translating real-world needs into engineered solutions. By Friday, you’ve sketched a controls architecture, mapped an installation sequence, and aligned stakeholders on a testing plan—all in service of Westinghouse’s mission to deliver safe, clean energy.
Your role, day to day
Where you’ll sit
You’ll report to the Manager, Design Engineering and Project Management and work on-site at our Columbia, SC facility in a hybrid remote / in-office arrangement.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200.00 to $129,000.00 per year.

What success looks like
You confidently troubleshoot PLCs, read and create electrical schematics, and design for manufacturability. You’re comfortable around high-voltage and 120 / 208 / 240 / 480V systems, and you can diagnose issues across industrial automation equipment. Your toolkit includes PLC programming and wiring, mechanical / electrical systems knowledge, and experience in heavy equipment repair within manufacturing settings.
