Must-Have :

• Post-op experience required
• Acute care experience required
• Full-time experience on a post-op unit required
• Completion of at least one travel contract

Description :

This is a position specializing in post-operative care.

Candidates must have experience in medical-surgical nursing.

This unit focuses on post-op gastrointestinal and wound care.

Patient diagnoses include pancreatitis, GI bleeds, bowel obstructions,

bowel perforation, wound infections, post-op infections, and more.

Special procedures performed include pancreatectomy, esophagectomy,

whipple, splenectomy, and various other surgeries.

Equipment used may include PEG, PCA, JP drains, wound vacs, and stomas.

Candidates should have experience with key nursing skills related

to post-operative care, including wound care and telemetry monitoring.

There is an expectation for the traveler to stay during emergencies.

Candidates may be required to work weekends or additional shifts.

Availability for a weekend block schedule is a plus.

This role is for an inpatient unit with a daily census of 24 patients.

Interdisciplinary support is available from physical therapy,

respiratory services, and pharmacy among others.

Candidates must adhere to all safety and health regulations.
