Overview

As an Asset Manager , you will play a critical role in supporting the operational integrity of the by serving as the Unit Property Custodian , Unit Software License Manager (USLM) , and Telephone Control Officer (TCO) . You will be responsible for the full lifecycle accountability and management of Government hardware and software assets in compliance with Department of the Air Force (DAF) and DoD policy and regulations.
This role is key to ensuring AA remains audit-ready, properly equipped, and operationally efficient. Your attention to detail, regulatory compliance, and organizational skills will help drive mission readiness across the unit.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management & Accountability
Serve as the AA Unit Property Custodian , maintaining inventory accuracy and accountability of all unit IT assets.
Maintain and update hardware / software asset records using Government-furnished systems and submit formal reports before the last working day of each month .
Fulfill duties in accordance with AFMAN 17-1203 , DoDI 8410.01 , and Appendix H.
Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with all DAF and DoD property management regulations and procedures.
Maintain no more than three (3) validated customer complaints per month related to asset management.
Lifecycle & Logistics Management
Coordinate with Equipment Custodian Officers and other authorized personnel to :
Maintain positive control over stock and spare devices.
Execute end-to-end lifecycle management including shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution.
Support technology refresh cycles and accountability inventories.
Assist in locating and accounting for lost, damaged, or stolen devices .
System Updates & Reporting
Update the designated Government asset and property management systems with the latest data related to device deployment, transfers, or retirements.
Generate and deliver system reports monthly, as directed.
Peripheral Device Management
Manage inventory, issuance, and tracking of peripherals (e.g., monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, etc.).
Ensure accurate status and location tracking of all issued equipment.
Troubleshooting & Warranty Coordination
Support asset troubleshooting coordination with technicians.
Manage device warranty claims and repairs with vendors and OEMs.
Minimum Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in IT asset management, logistics, supply chain operations, or similar roles.
Working knowledge of AFMAN 17-1203 , DoDI 8410.01 , and federal asset accountability regulations.
Familiarity with government property management systems and software license tracking.
Strong organizational and data accuracy skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and interface with stakeholders at all levels.
Active Secret clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD programs or Air Force units in a custodial or logistics role.
Experience coordinating with Equipment Custodians and Government Property Administrators.
Knowledge of government warranty processes and logistics protocols.
Familiarity with ServiceNow, Remedy, DPAS, or similar asset management platforms.
