Brief Description
Under regular direction and in compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, works collaboratively with Warrant Officers, Strategic Planning & Analysis division, Ministerial Recorders, various Municipal Court staff, Solicitor's Diversion programs, and other law enforcement agencies to perform timely warrant entry and warrant removal in the V-Connect system and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) within the parameters of federal and state laws and guidelines, related legislation, and policies and procedures. Assigns warrants. Compiles and maintains warrant statistics for the Greenville Police Department (GPD) and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) FBI yearly audits. Performs related administrative and clerical duties, including but not limited to filing warrant document and logging in-state transport, and extraditions. Compiles and maintains statistics and data on warrant services and mental health interventions.
Job Duties
Essential Functions :
- Perform Warrant Data Entry and File Maintenance : Perform timely warrant entry and warrant removal using the V-Connect data system and NCIC within the parameters of federal and state laws and guidelines, related legislation, and policies and procedures. Enter new warrants in V-Connect data system. Document warrant status changes as warrants are served. Assign warrants to zones for service and tracking progress.
- Provide Administrative Support : Answer phones for the Warrants Division. Receive and document phone calls from other agencies. Assist with filing warrant documents, including all teletypes and Be-On-Look-Outs (BOLOs) for subject extradition. Support management by logging in-state transport and extraditions. Process Flying While Armed clearance for officers. Enter data and maintain departmental documentation regarding mental health transports and Crisis Intervention Team deployment, response, and incident disposition.
- Compile and Maintain Warrant Statistics : Compile statistics on warrant service by all divisions within the GPD. Maintain all warrants and statistics for SLED / FBI yearly audits. Validate and audit warrants. Maintain statistics and data on problematic warrants. Work with Strategic Planning & Analysis to generate statistics, reports, and BOLOs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Requirements :
High School diploma or equivalent.Over two (2) years of experience in an administrative assistant role.Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job, may be substituted for evaluation at the discretion of City management.Must be able to pass background clearance for access to Criminal Justice information.Must have or obtain NCIC Full Function and Security Awareness and NCIC Auxiliary Terminal Agency Coordinator (ATAC) certification within six (6) months of employment.Preferred Qualifications :
Associate degree in administrative office, business, secretarial, or related field.Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certificate or Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) certificate.Driver's License Requirements :
Valid South Carolina Class D Driver's License.Performance Requirements :

Operate general office equipment to include scanner, printer, copier, telephone, and computer with Microsoft Office Suite. Utilize specialized software and systems in performance of job duties which may include work management system, mapping system, and purchasing and financial systems.Other Information
