Legal-Senior Commercial Counsel (Houston)

We have been retained by an industry-leading, U.S.-based global company that is seeking a talented corporate & commercial attorney who can work directly with business teams, build relationships, and drive deals to the finish line. This is an exciting and challenging cross-functional role. This lawyer will provide support to structure and execute significant and complex industrial and commercial transactions, including project development, product sales, and EPC agreements.

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership, decision-making, and relationship management skills. An ability to collaborate with other legal and business team members and confidently interact with the C-suite will be important, as this is a role with visibility to senior executives.

Responsibilities may include :

• Negotiating, structuring, drafting, and amending major commercial contracts
• Collaborating with other business leaders to evaluate, manage and execute significant customer transactions or initiatives
• Assisting with a range of potential projects involving capital investments and joint ventures
• Partnering with the tax and finance functions on relevant transactions
• Managing outside counsel for large transactional projects
• Handling disputes with an eye toward avoiding litigation; drafting commercial settlement agreements

A minimum of 7 years of business transactional experience is required. Experience working at a top law firm and in-house at a major corporation is highly preferred.

This role is on a hybrid in-office schedule located in Houston, Texas.
