Responsibilities

  • Ensures that medical imaging equipment is repaired in a timely manner, works reliably, is safe to operate, and functions properly. Performs preventive maintenance, quality assurance testing, equipment calibrations, installations, and corrective maintenance on a variety of imaging equipment. Supports technologies including MRI, CT, PET, ultrasound, general and interventional X-ray, mammography, nuclear imaging, and linear accelerators. Coordinates with buyers, project managers, facilities projects, and vendors to ensure equipment is installed properly for optimum performance. Configures equipment to work on the hospital network, ensures proper firewall and antivirus configuration, and adheres to data security policies. Analyzes complex technical issues, runs software and hardware diagnostics, and documents results and activities per policies. May use oscilloscopes, analyzers, multi-meters, dosimeters, and other test equipment during maintenance. Willingness to travel to Mayo Clinic sites; on-call and overtime as required. Maintains a professional image and strong communication with staff, contractors, and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Must have one of the following :
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in biomed electronics, electrical engineering, electronics, or related technology field with 3 years of equipment service experience; or

  • A non-related Associate's degree (or higher) plus 8 years of HTM / biomedical electronics equipment service experience or HTM imaging technician experience; or
  • US Military training in biomed electronics, electrical engineering, electronics, or related fields, and 3 years of equipment service experience.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. Experience repairing medical imaging equipment in hospital or clinic settings. Certifications such as AAMI, BMET, CRES; extensive technical training and manufacturer / vendor training certifications. Knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, biology, medical terminology, and clinical terminology. Knowledge of networks, computer hardware / software, and computer security. High level of professionalism.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without Mayo Clinic sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., US citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
  • Compensation & Benefits

  • Exemption status : Nonexempt
  • Compensation : $43.75 - $61.25 per hour
  • Benefits eligible : Yes
  • Schedule

    Full time; 80 hours per pay period. Schedule : Monday - Friday; 7 : 00 am – 3 : 30 pm. On-call rotation and travel to other Mayo Clinic sites.
