Senior Buyer

Avantor is looking for a Senior Buyer to assist in managing all day-to-day activities under the scope of Manufacturing Procurement, delivering value to the business through operational processes and services.

They will be responsible for purchasing commodity products, chemicals, equipment, and supplies and all aspects of daily purchase order management and is able to solve complex problems with innovation and ingenuity.

This will be a full-time position based out of our Solon, OH office. You will have the opportunity to support the Marketing and S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) team and assist in resolution of pricing and product issues. This person will also exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and prioritizing workload, committing Avantor financial resources, and using considerable judgment in complex situations that include escalation as necessary to support some of our most critical accounts.

What Were Looking For :

• Education : Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Logistics Management or related field.
• Experience : Previous experience in purchasing / logistics role minimum 7 years of experience.
• Additional Qualifications :
• Requires specialized or advanced knowledge of operational and supply chain business practices normally gained through a combination of professional experience and education.
• Excellent team player that also possesses ability to work independently.
• Proficient in Excel and SAP (Power Bi advantageous).
• Excellent communication / presentation skills.
• Reliable and confident working with limited supervision as well as stepping into lead projects.
• Excellent attention to detail and high-quality focus with an analytical mindset.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Capable of leading department meetings and organizing conference calls when required.
