PRN INTAKE COUNSELOR (DEGREED) at Canyon Creek Behavioral Health – Temple, TX

Responsibilities

The Intake Counselor, under the supervision of the Director of Admissions, interviews and assesses potential patients and inquiry callers. The Intake Counselor works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted. Also initiates the referral process when indicated, and communicates with referral sources. Canyon Creek will be a 102-bed facility providing inpatient and outpatient treatment, as well as Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). Inpatient treatment is a form of acute hospitalization for individuals facing a psychiatric crisis. Outpatient care is provided in a less restrictive treatment environment. Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) can be an effective treatment method for patients with severe, treatment-resistant depression.
