Job Summary :
Interviews and interacts with patients and when indicated, their advocates, to obtain mental status and psychiatric and social histories relevant to their current emotional / behavioral problem(s).
Uses current evidence-based knowledge and skills to assess psychiatric emergencies and to provide sound, professional care and crisis intervention services to patients.
Education :
Position requires graduation from an accredited Masters Degree Program in a mental health discipline (i.e., social work, counseling, or psychology).
Registration / Certification / Licensure :
A license in their particular discipline (e.g., social work, counseling, or psychology - L.C.S.W., L.C.P.C., C.S.) must be obtained within 12 months of the employee's hire or transfer date.
Experience :
Position requires a minimum of 6 months postgraduate clinical experience.
Other Requirements :
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and / or any other department requirements.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays to assist in achieving 24 / 7 on-call coverage.
Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.
Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice.
Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements.
Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment producing quality work.
