Position Summary
The Construction Inspector will monitor, assess, evaluate, verify, discuss, decide, resolve, report and document contractor construction activities as to ensure that the design requirements, associated drawings and specifications, along with all Local, State and Federal regulations and industry best practices, are being met in a safely, effective and in an environmentally safe manner.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Serve as field liaison between contractors, within various areas, and customers as needed.
- Ensures contractors are working safely and to Standards and Specifications, processes and procedures.
- Ensures contractors are following provided designs and standards coordinating approved modifications as appropriate.
- Attend and participate in preconstruction / planning, on-going construction status, and post-construction meetings.
- Perform field investigations to follow up on work completed and respond to customer concerns.
- Identify, stop and report any contractor safety infractions to management and / or contract crew management.
- Meets with contract foreman to assist in problem resolution.
- Coordinates contractor work with entities and various 3rd party entities.
- Ensures contract work is performed in a safe and timely manner, meeting expected deadlines, and as economically efficient as possible.
- Communicates with designers and other stakeholders regarding all changes made in the field.
- Conduct inspections of 3 Phase ,URD, and UED Projects
- Plans, coordinates and tracks work assigned to contractors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

Working Environment
Work is performed outdoors with possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
