Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NY RN license and proficiency with Epic EMR.

Responsibilities

Hospital Emergency Department with combined adult and pediatric patient population

Nurse to patient ratios are 1 : 5 with mixed acuity levels

Night shifts (3x12 hours) from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00

Every other weekend required

Must float within the hospital when census warrants

Uses Epic for charting

Responsible for providing emergency care to both adult and pediatric patients

Candidates may be floated to other nursing units as needed

Scrub attire should be any combination of navy and white

Minimal time off requests preferred

Return staff must have a minimum 1 year gap before reapplying

Pre-employment modules required prior to start, with up to 5 hours billable

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Approval for block scheduling is not guaranteed

Requirements

Active NY RN license in hand

Minimum of 1 year recent Emergency Department RN experience

Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS

Proficiency in Epic charting system required

Demonstrated skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV therapy, paralytics and sedation administration, vasopressors, stroke (CVA) management, and isolation precautions

Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
