Position Purpose

The Sports, Fitness & Play Director is responsible for role-modeling and promoting healthy behaviors throughout the Clubhouse. The Director is responsible for all health and physical education activities and is directly responsible to the Clubhouse Assistant Director. The Director shall plan, organize, direct, and control the Fitness & Health program within the policies and grant requirements of the organization. The Director will facilitate health education groups on various health-related topics. Under the direct supervision of the Clubhouse Director / Assistant Clubhouse Director, the Sports, Fitness & Play Director’s primary role is to provide daily sports fitness and recreation programming, and provide leadership in designated areas throughout the Clubhouse, all while primarily focusing on main duties and responsibilities. This position is a Non-Exempt, Full Time position (30+ hours weekly) and is benefits eligible.

Key Responsibilities

• Day to Day Duties – assist with daily sports fitness and recreation programming; direct and supervise department activities and all part-time staff and / or volunteers; transport Club members as needed; prepare daily statistical reports; attend meetings, conferences, and training as required; assist with fundraising projects and Club-wide special events; requisition supplies and equipment; conduct community outreach; bring in guest speakers from the health & wellness field; collaborate with existing sports leagues and schedule gym time; plan and organize department programs (subject to approval); maintain professional appearance and conduct reflective of BGCSF standards; perform other duties as assigned by the Clubhouse Director.
• Leadership – 50% focus on role-modeling healthy behaviors; provide resource coaching to staff; promote department participation and age-appropriate activities; offer seasonal leagues, tournaments, and skill development; attend training and facilitate health education groups; maintain gym, outside play areas, locker rooms with emphasis on safety and sanitation; provide leadership and guidance on health and first aid; design unique programs and manage related data; exercise authority in department-related matters.

Pay

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $24-27 per hour.
