Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with charge experience and a current CA RN license for a night shift assignment involving floating and specialized ICU skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the ICU of an acute care hospital
  • Patient ratio is 1 : 2
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–07 : 00)
  • Required to float to like units within the hospital, including Telemetry, and to affiliate hospital locations as needed
  • May be required to float to other facilities within the state
  • Open to block scheduling at manager's discretion
  • Scrub color of choice permitted
  • Uses Meditech for charting
  • Care for critically ill patients in the ICU setting, utilizing advanced critical care skills
  • Charge responsibilities are part of regular duties
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
  • Must commit to working at least 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Pre-employment training modules (average 16 hours) are required before start
  • Free parking provided at the facility
  • Return staff may be considered after a 3-month break
  • Requested time off must be included at the time of application

    • Requirements

  • Active CA RN license in hand required
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience with charge experience
  • Specialized ICU experience beyond MICU required; Surgical, Trauma, Shock, or Neuro ICU preferred
  • Required certifications : ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS
  • No pending licenses accepted
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must provide SSN and DOB for consideration
  • Two supervisory references covering one year within the last three years are required
  • Must be willing to float as needed
  • Must not have worked as permanent staff within the past 3 months
  • Candidates living under 50 miles from the facility will be considered local
