Broadcast Engineer

Job Description

WRGB / WCWN has an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Broadcast / IT Engineer. This position involves maintaining broadcast equipment, computers and servers related to television transmission and video automation systems, as well as business-side workstations. The candidate will be directly responsible for hands-on support of modern broadcast and IT equipment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Maintain and repair cameras, video production switchers, audio equipment, video routers, automation / editing systems, video server systems, graphic systems, monitors and display systems, receivers, transmitters.
• PC hardware / software support of on-site installation, service, troubleshooting, and repairing of workstations
• Provide support in the management of servers, network security, and network services
• Assist with LAN and WAN related hardware and software maintenance
• Develop knowledge of facility specific IT needs and assist in supporting these systems
• Apply regular security updates
• Provide support for the technical needs of the News Department
• Provide first response support as needed to maintain live news broadcasts
• Responds to trouble calls with broadcast or computer equipment
• Assist with video equipment set-up and maintenance
• Assist with transmitter maintenance
• Provide end-user support across all departments
• Assist in fleet management
• Assist in building maintenance and scheduling of maintenance
• Perform physical inventory of equipment
• Maintain digital telephone system
• Other duties as may be assigned

Physical Demands / Work Environment :

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $19.50 to $21.50 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
