Basic Function

Under direction, on an assigned shift, maintains and operates a water plant and assists in the care and maintenance of plant equipment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs minor and standard laboratory tests as required
• Monitors and maintains levels of chemicals
• Flushes plant system
• Inspects and performs minor repairs and maintenance to plant equipment and related facilities
• Prepares various reports
• Maintains plant buildings and grounds
• Performs additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Completion of high school or GED required; associate's degree preferred. Three years of experience in operation and maintenance of a water plant or system required.

Special Requirements

Physical Requirements

Intense physical effort is required. Individual must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, grasp, speak, and listen for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions

Work involves some exposure to moderate risk of accident and requires following basic safety precautions.

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this position is $20.80 to $30.16
