About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist

Experience : Minimum 2 years preferred; 1 year may be considered with strong experience

License : South Dakota RCP License required prior to start

Certifications : Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required; CRT will be considered based on experience; BLS, ACLS required

Must-Have :

• Critical Care and general respiratory care experience
• Ability to care for NICU patients if required

Description :

This facility has a bed capacity of 260-280 with a daily census of 250-260.

The respiratory therapy department is busy and fast-paced.

Patient types include highly progressive and acute respiratory care such as adult critical care, pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory care.

Candidates must be prepared to provide care in a variety of settings, including NICU.

Support on the unit includes charge respiratory therapists and clinical specialists available 24 / 7, along with supervisors and a manager.

Charting is done using an EPIC system.

Required equipment includes various ventilators, high flow devices, and blood gas machines.

There is floating coverage throughout the facility and the emergency department as needed, but floating to other facilities is not typical.

Weekend rotation is every other week.

Home health call may be required every other week during business and off hours.

Work will be expected on holidays that fall within the contract dates.

Approval for time off is available, limited to up to 7 days with contract extension needed for full week off.

Scrub color is specified as pewter.
