Responsibilities
- Participate in the design and implementation of synchronous and asynchronous library instruction in the health sciences, including the development and maintenance of online learning objects, videos, and other resources that apply the concepts of evidence based practice and information literacy.
- Provide in-depth research consultations with faculty, staff, and students; perform complex literature searches in support of systematic reviews and other research endeavors.
- Record personal statistics related to instruction and consultation activities; participate in library strategic initiative activities, including research impact, clinical education, undergraduate education, scholarly communication, data management, and research methodology.
- Act as liaison to one or more health sciences colleges or departments; build relationships and networks to support the instructional and research needs of students and faculty.
- Attend library departmental meetings.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Required : Master\'s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Required Qualifications : Master\'s degree in Library Science; demonstrated ability with technology to create web-based and multi-media instructional modules; knowledge of evidence based practice and / or information literacy; demonstrated ability to complete complex literature searches; familiarity with health sciences databases; requires successful completion of a background check; candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.Preferred Qualifications : Undergraduate or graduate degree in life or health sciences and / or professional experience in biomedicine or health sciences; minimum 2 years of experience in an academic, life, or health sciences library; ability to adapt and work well within a complex, changing environment.Salary
Salary Range : The budget for this position is $60,000 to $70,000.
